It’s the Go-Home Raw before the biggest party of the summer: SummerSlam! Buckle up kids, this one is going to be wild!
RAW opens with Ronda Rousey! She talks about Jim Neidhart’s passing. Sending out best wishes to Nattie and her entire family. Same goes with us here. Ronda goes on to start talking about Alexa Bliss and how she’ll beat her this Sunday. She then introduces Ember Moon. Alexa immediate comes out with Alicia Fox, how is wearing…flowers on her head? Alexa talks shit for a few minutes then calls out security to protect her from Ronda. Alexa cheap shots Ember who runs into ronda and knocks her out of the ring. Ronda runs back in to fight but security stops her for about 2 seconds before Ronda and Alicia go at it while Alexa slinks away.
Alexa Bliss vs. Ember Moon:
Already underway during the commercial. Ember and Alexa trade holds. Ember hits a few arm drags before getting Alexa into an arm hold. We get a Summer Slam commercial. Wrestling is still on the little screen though. Alexa had a quick moment of offense, stopped by Ember. They seem to trade momentum making this a decent match so far. Alexa slide out of the ring and Ember hits a huge baseball slide on Alexa! Back in the ring, Alexa takes control, but Ember hits a step up ensaguri before we go to the 3rd commercial of the match. Back and Alexa is controlling things once more with big knees to the mid-section. She gets Ember in a big head lock but Ember breaks out with a sit out neck breaker. Alexa answers right away with a clothesline and another headlock. They go back and forth for a while. Little moves traded here and there before Alexa blows a kiss to Ronda to taunt her. Ember gets fired up and starts beating that ass. Ronda starts beating the shit out of Fox, then gets hit by Alexa. Ember apparently got laid out. I missed that part. Ember hits the Eclipse and goes for the pin but Alicia Fox breaks it up.
Winner by DQ: Ember Moon
Backstage with Uncle Kurt and Baron Corbin. They’re arguing for some reason. Dolph and Drew are back in the office too. Nothing important happens here.
Baron Corbin vs. Tyler Breeze
Corbin pushes Breeze into the corner, then Corbin just starts man handling Breeze. This pretty much Baron Corbin running the entire match. Expect a wild Finn Balor at some point. Breeze gets a moment or two of offense but Baron always has an answer. Baron wins with a Deep Six
Winner: Baron Corbin
He gets on the mic and starts talking shit to Finn Balor. He makes a match between Finn Balor and Jinder Mahal annnnd Kevin Owens.
Uncle Kurt is clearly tired of Baron Corbin’s shit and comes out to say itll be a tag team match!
Jinder Mahal and Kevin Owens vs. Finn Balor and Braun Strowman
Jinder and Finn lock up. Jinder pushes him to the corner but lets him out and they lock up again. Finn rolls out of a few arm holds but Jinder meets him with a big fist. Jinder remains in control for a bit before Finn hits a sitting dropkick. Jinder pushes him to his corner and Kevin Owens tags in. Kevin attacks straight away, holding Finn back from tagging in Braun. KO keeps on the attacks and tags in Jinder. Jinder continues with a snapmare takedown then tags in KO. They hit a double team move then KO goes back in but Finn gets way and tags Braun. KO runs away and tags Jinder before sliding away. Strowman clobbers Jinder Mahal with a big paw. Strowman hits a big splash in the corner on Jinder. He takes apart Jinder, piece by piece. Strowman tags in Finn, then body slams him on top of Jinder. I popped for that. Finn hits a big splash to the outside as we go to a break. Good match so far! Back annnd KO is in control. Finn hits a double knees and tries to tag but KO tagged Jinder in and Jinder is fast apparently. He takes it to Finn, wearing him down bit by bit. KO is back in annnd Finn hits a sling blade! Braun is powered up and gets the tag. He clobbers Jinder, then KO, then back to Jinder, then kills sunil singh and hits KO with him. Back in the ring Jinder hits a big knee, then goes for another but Braun slams him hard and pins him.
Winner: Braun Strowman and Finn Balor
Braun eyes KO then begins to stalk. Braun starts to chase and KO runs away. Baron comes out of nowhere and hits the End of Days on Finn Balor.
Backstage is Kurt, Drew and Dolph. They keep looking for Seth.
There is some guy playing guitar that isn’t Elias. Elias comes out. They talk about stuff that isn’t important. Bobby Lashley comes out.
Bobby Lashley vs. Ricky Roberts
Squash! Roberts is dead.
Winner: Bobby Lashley
I guess technically the match never started. Oh well. Elias walks away obviously. He don’t want none.
Backstage is the B-Team! They do Steiner Math and I pop, hard.
The Deleter of Worlds vs. The Revival vs. B-Team:
You guys know the rules for big tag matches. I’ll give highlights for the sake of trying to get this out in a timely manner.
- Revival shows some really good teamwork
- Bray hits a nasty slam on Dash Wilder against the ring apron.
- It gets chaotic as hell with a top rope superplex from Matt Hardy to Scott Dawson onto everyone to the outside.
B-Team win after Revival hit a Shatter Machine on Bray Wyatt
Winner and still: B-Team
Backstage is Roman Reigns and the B-Team runs up, yells some stuff, and walks away.
Backstage with Kurt, Dolph, and Drew…again.
Roman Reigns comes down to the ring. He cuts a pretty meh promo before Paul Heyman comes out! He comes out trying to sweet talk Roman. Roman and Paul Heyman together makes my nipples hard. Anyways, the whole premise of this happening seems a little too good for us lowly WWE fans. We don’t get what we want. Roman declines Paul’s offer and says he’d be Universal Champ if it wasn’t for Paul. Paul tries to sweet talk him more. Roman declines again and Paul keeps trying and hands him an agreement in principle. He tells Roman not to tell him his answer tonight, but to do it at SummerSlam. HE then PEPPER SPAYS HIM. What the fuuuuuuuck?! Paul walks away. Brock Lesnar makes his way down to the ring. Brock beats up Roman and leaves with Paul. Totally surprised at that one. Excellent storytelling. Brock isn’t done. He goes back down.
AOP and Mojo vs. Titus World Wide and Bobby Roode
Highlights because giant tag matches are stupid. Actually this match was pretty short. Bobby Roode hits Mojo with a Glorious DDT for the win. AOP was taken out before this…
Winner: Bobby Roode and Titus World Wide
Jim Neidhart video package. It was really awesome. Definitely touching.
Sasha Banks w/ Bayley and Ruby Riott w/ the rest of the Riott Squad
The two tie up with Ruby taking control early. There is a lot of back and forth before Sasha gets Ruby in an arm lock. Riott squad is crouched down, waiting to pounce. Ruby goes for a quick roll up that gets turned into a Banks Statement. Ruby gets out and things go outside. Ruby tosses Sasha into the stairs and then kicks Sasha’s hand while its caught in the stairs. Back in the ring Sasha tries a few different roll ups before getting her hand stomped on again. Commercial time! Back and Ruby is still in control. Sasha turns the arm hold around but Ruby gets it back right away. Sasha starts fighting back, hitting big slaps and an arm drag. Sasha flies out of the ring and clobbers Sarah Logan. Bayley attacks Liv Morgan, Ruby attacks Sasha and gets the roll up win.
Winner: Ruby Riott
Backstage is Corbin and Kurt Angle…Still waiting on Seth Rollins.
In the ring is Kurt. He is interrupted by Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. Kurt tries to introduce Seth Rollins but he doesn’t come out. Dolph and Drew laugh and make fun of Kurt. Dolph cuts a good promo about his struggle. Seth’s music hits and he walks out! He brings out Dean Ambrose! The place erupts. Drew throws a table for no reason. Everyone brawls! Awesome way to end RAW!
