Raw starts with with your Olympic Champion, Kurt Angle. He talks about his match at Wrestlemania and about Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns. He says Brock wont be here tonight because he couldn’t make it, or was sick, or just didn’t want to come. Enter Roman Reigns. Roman rips on Brock Lesnar. He says Brock wont be punished because he’s “Vince’s boy” My eyes have never rolled into the back of my head harder. Roman say Vince is the problem. Interest is retained. He says he will not be disrespected by Vince McMahon. Head backstage to Vince and Shane, back in gorilla. Vince says to come to his office and we go to commercial. Hell of a segment. Raw is coming out swinging.
Back from commercial, the angel faced Renee Young is outside Vince’s office. Roman comes out and walks away. Vince comes out and says Brock is no one’s boy and that he didn’t mean to disrespect Roman but he needs to know his roll and shuts his mouth. He continues on about Brock then implies Roman disrespected him and that he is suspended.
Out to the ring now!
Sasha Banks w/ Bayley (for some reason) vs Sonya Deville w/ Absolution
Sasha is in control early. Annnnnnd we get a commercial. When we come back Sonya is in control. Those commercial. Sonya gets some good momentum in a kinda slow, but good match. Sasha turns it around with a quick reversal, fighting off Sonya. Bayley is standing on the side acting as interesting in this match as a lot of people in that arena. Mandy Rose goes to interfere, Bayley stops her, Sonya gets distracted, and Sasha hits the Banks Statement.
Winner: Sasha Banks
Bayley dips out and Absolution plays the numbers games and beat her down. Paige walks around in there, being the awesome manager that she is.
Kid Rock HOF video. I don’t know what to think about this. Cool? I mean it’d be cooler if he actually preforms at Wrestlemania so my fiancé and I can drink beer and be rednecks but it is what it is. Undertaker is referenced in the video.
Back to the ring for MizTV. He is out there by his lonesome because they have a match later. He calls out Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. The crowd chants “Two Sweet”. Miz says they look comfortable. He says both him and Seth could have burnt it down at Mania. Miz is trying to drive a wedge between Finn Balor and Seth. They go back and forth about their match at Wrestlemania and trading barbs. Balor says Seth doesn’t have to wait 4 weeks for a match. Miz backs up and tries to run but Seth catches him, Balor tosses him out, then catches a punch from Rollins. Interesting segment for these guys, the interest definitely grows for this match.
The Bar vs The Miztourage
The Miztourage attacks the Bar before the bell rings. The Bar recovers and enter the ring. They start to beat down the Miztourage before the Revival show up out of nowhere to assist the Miztourage. The Club comes out, along with Titus Worldwide. They all beat the hell out of the Bar. Slater and Rhyno are out there randomly too. Sheamus and Cesaro make their escape.
John Cena is up next. He comes out to thunderous reactions and gives Coach his required handshake. He says he’s finally found his road to Wrestlemania. He says he didn’t get the job done, no excuses, and no one to blame but himself. The crowd chants Undertaker…. John says he won’t compete at Wrestlemania this year. Some yes chants, some boos. Pretty even. He says he’ll just watch Mania this year. He says he gets to be the energy. He says he’s going as a fan. John Cena just made being a fan of wrestling seem intense and special. He says he’s going to have a blast and have a great time. He jumps into the crowd and drinks someone’s beer. He does a few chants but gets boo’d at the “Lets go Roman” chant. He does a “Lets go Cena” chant for good measure and the crowd loves it. He talks about doing something he’s not supposed to do. He challenges the Undertaker to a match at Wrestlemania. The crowd loses it. I lose it. The dogs are all scared now that I’m yelling. He says he was told that match was impossible. Cena keeps saying he challenges Taker at Mania. He says The Undertaker is the only person keeping the match from happening at Wrestlemania. He rips Taker for disappearing after his last loss. He calls the Undertaker an Egomaniac. The crowd is 100% behind this… He say’s he’d like to see Taker try to Tombstone him at Mania. He says he’ll see him at Mania as a fan, or as his opponent. I’ve got chills. Cena drops the mic and leaves the ring. Holy hell.
The Bar is backstage is backstage with Kurt Angle. They complain about the beat down they received and don’t feel safe on Raw anymore. They want to be traded to Smackdown. Kurt tries to calm them down. He says they’ll find out their opponents after a Raw Tag Team Battle Royal tonight.
There is a recap of the Symphony of Destruction match from last week when Elias was sent to hell by Braun Strowman.
Out to the ring we have Elias. He has on a neckbrace and just looks beaten. He says this is the crowds fault and he leaves the ring.
Backstage is Braun Strowman yelling at the camera about last weeks match. He’s mad that he doesn’t have a match at Wrestlemania. There is text on the screen so I stopped looking.
Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor:
The two lock up and have a good exchange. The Miz is shown backstage watching on the TV. Seth and Finn seem pretty evenly matched. Cole and Graves go on about how good Seth Rollins is. Rollins has control of the match, delivering some nasty chops to Finn on the ropes. Commercial time. Rollins controls the match as we come back. Finn starts to make his comeback, hitting a lot of the usual Finn moves, then giving Seth some heavy chops in the corner. They both trade punches and kicks, knocking both men to the ground. Rollins almost hit the curb stomp but Balor reverses it. The action ends in the corner with a massive superplex to a Falcon Arrow that gets reversed to a rollup and the win for Finn.
Winner: Finn Balor
Fabulous Moolah video package. She was champion for over 27 years and the first women wrestler to wrestle at the Madison Square Garden. The Fabulous Moolah Memorial Battle Royal will be at Wrestlemania this year. Good way to allow every woman to get their own Wrestlemania moment without having to have a single match.
The same Ronda Rousey video recap they showed last night. Nothing to see here folks.
Asuka is up next. She is interviewed in the ring by –Insert Random Interviewer-. She asks Asuka why she chose Charlotte over Alexa Bliss. Alexa Bliss (w/ Mickie James) interrupts immediately. She tells Charlie her English isn’t great so interviews aren’t her strong suit. She digs in again about Asuka’s language barrier. Alexa and Mickie say Asuka chose Charlotte because she’s afraid to face Alexa at Mania. Asuka says she chose Charlotte because she wants to face the best champion in WWE at *points at sign*. Alexa says Charlotte is easier to beat. Asuka challenges Alexa and starts yelling in Japanese. She says she gets this woman instead….no one comes out. She says it again…no one comes out. Mickie hit Asuka with a cheap shot. Pointless segment….. There is a commercial about dogs that follows that and now I feel better again.
Phantom match maker, Kurt Angle, makes Asuka vs Mickie James a match.
Asuka vs Mickie James:
Mickie controls early but Asuka quickly turns it around and starts to beat down James. Alexa pulls Mickie out of the ring, Asuka follows and annihilates James with a knee. Asuka continues to beat the bricks off of Mickie James until Asuka kicks the ring post after Mickie James rolls out of the way. Both end up back in the ring and now Mickie has control, working on Asuka’s leg. Asuka almost gets pinned but kicks out quick, this goes to Asuka kicking Mickie in the face. The crowd chants Rusev day. Womp womp. Mickie hits a top rope sunset flip power bomb but Asuka kicks. Asuka gets James in the Asuka Lock and the win.
Ultimate Deletion Preview is later on, along with the Tag Team Battle Royal.
Nia Jax is backstage. Alexa comes back and yells at Nia Jax. Kurt told Nia not to come out because shes got a match next. Alexa still raises hell anyways. They’re apparently still friends. Whoopie.
Nia Jax vs. Joan King:
Oh dear. Poor girl. Nia wrecks her. 6 moves and Nia wins.
Winner: Nia Jax
They show Alexa and Mickie backstage. They’re talking behind Nia’s back. Uh ohhhh. Instead of going back to the back to get her some, Nia stands in the ring. Charlie comes back and tells Alexa and Mickie everyone heard what they said. Nia leaves the ring all sad that instantly turns to pissed. Alexa and Mickie run away. Nia comes back to the dressing room and just destroys everything.
Ultimate Deletion preview. Bray shows up on the screen and accepts.
Kurt looks confused by this Ultimate Deletion thing. He calls a ref in and tells him he has to referee the thing. The ref doesn’t look excited.
The Bar come out to watch the Tag Team Battle Royal. The ring is already filled with the members of the battle royal. Braun comes out! He looks like he going to murder everyone. Maybe he has a tag partner? Otherwise he’s just going to kill everyone. The bell rings and Braun gets to smashing. Everyone gangs up on Strowman to try and get him out of the ring. The Revival capitalize and throw Rhyno out. Strowman is alone in the ring as everyone else is outside, making a plan. Commercial 8 minutes before the show ends… Everyone comes back and tries to beat him down. He gets knocked out of the ring, but only through the second rope. The Revival and Miztourage hit Strowman with stairs on the outside while the Club beats on Titus in the ring. Everyone ends up in the ring again. The Revival and Miztourage team again to throw Titus out but The Revival turn quickly. The Revival is out. The Club, Titus, Miztourage, and Braun remain. Titus is eliminated by Braun. Gallows out by Braun. Miztourage try to get him out but Braun kills them both. Machine Gun is left. He powers up and kicks Strowman in the head. He tries again and Braun overpowers him. Braun Strowman wins
Odd way to end Raw but im curious how they will spin this into some sort of story line.
