(NOAH) EVENT RECAP ~ "NAVIGATION FOR THE PROGRESS",SHINYOUSEI TWENTY ONE HALL, (WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 13TH 2019, NIGHT TWO)
This venue is most famous for what has been dubbed by the Noah ring crew "The Demon Staircase Of Hell". The reason it has been given this name is that last summer, when Noah first came here in the midst of one of the hottest summers in Japan, is because there is no way to park the truck near the entry and so all the ring equipment (disco ball and any other equipment) must be carried up and down "The Demon Staircase of Hell" (about two flights), across a courtyard and through the lobby.
Due to Atsushi Kotoge's injury (still no word on what is wrong with his arm) the card had to be changed, which meant that poor Kinya Okada was taken off the card, but he did get his moment nonetheless, albeit when The Hooligans beat him up. The card was also changed to only five matches.
The Japan Transplant Association came to the ring today and did a fundraiser.
Noah have long ties to the association as after Jumbo Tsuruta (who Mitsuharu Misawa was the trainee and second of) died in May 2000 due to complications of an organ transplant, Misawa swore that no one would ever again want for one should it ever be in his power, and Noah's association with them was born.
Daisuke Harada was on autograph duty.
Kenoh & Masa Kitamiya vs Junta Miyawaki & Tadasuke
Tadasuke decided to also taunt Kenoh today by imitating his pose, and Kenoh did not take kindly to it, Tadasuke later commented that "something sparked" in him by fighting two people who were active in the heavyweight division (to be honest, out of all of RATELS, Tadasuke is the biggest and most heavyset, and probably will have the least trouble turning heavyweight).
Masa Kitamiya got Junta Miyawaki in a merciless prison lock (which Tadasuke had to break up)
Kenoh also used the Falcon Arrow
WINNER: Kenoh with a kick to Junta Miyawaki (10 minutes and 13 seconds)
Hajime Ohara, Hitoshi Kumano & Yoshiki Inamura vs Yoshinari Ogawa, YO-HEY & HAYATA
Inamura, the most junior in the match, really took it from HAYATA (who gets some kind of cold sadistic pleasure out of tormenting people in the ring), YO-HEY, however, looked bright and fluffy today and was said to be looking "relieved" to be back with "the wife".
Yoshinari Ogawa took out Hitoshi Kumano, and threw a table at him (something you saw particularly in Noah's "Golden Era"), he didn't even have time to take his t-shirt off.
Kotaro Suzuki was absent today, and so Ogawa posed with the belts over the fallen Backbreakers.
WINNER: HAYATA with the moonsault on Yoshiki Inamura (10 minutes and 21 seconds)
Takashi Sugiura, Akitoshi Saito & Masao Inoue vs The Hooligans (Maybach Taniguchi, Cody Hall & KAZMA SAKAMOTO)
"At the elimination match at Korakuen Hall on the 24th February, how can you hope to win with an old man and a green boy? Sugiura, if you lose, you will be the Hooligans slave; you will lick my boots, clean Taniguch's back and carry Cody's bags!" (KAZMA SAKAMOTO after the match) with a knocked out Kinya Okada propped up in front of them.
WINNER: KAZMA SAKAMOTO with the Trace Kick on Masao Inoue (11 minutes and 19 seconds)
50 Funky Powers (Mohammed Yone & Quiet Storm) vs The Mid Generation (Go Shiozaki and Katsuhiko Nakajima)
The Disco Ball was spinning along to "Boogie Wonderland"
Katsuhiko Nakajima (whom everyone pretty much called "Waruhiko" in this match, "Waru" meaning "bad" or "wicked"), had a huge smirk on his face when he choked out Quiet Storm, later he posted a picture of it with three crazy face emoticons. The fight also went out of the ring, and the smirk did not fade when Nakajima beat Yone up infront of some old ladies...one of whom was Yone's mother. The crowd scattered, and Nakajima's kicks sounded like gunshots.
WINNER: Katsuhiko Nakajima with the sleeper hold on Quiet Storm (referee stoppage after 18 minutes and 13 seconds)
Kaito Kiyomiya, Daisuke Harada & Hitoshi Yamato vs Naomichi Marufuji, Minoru Tanaka & Hi69
Usual singing entry from Hitoshi Yamato, he told Marufuji that he couldn't have dried seaweed (like the DDT press signing). Marufuji had a priceless look on his face.
Marufuji worked on Kaito Kiyomiya's arm, and the fight went outside the ring, at one point he had it wrapped around a steel barrier.
At the end of the match, Daisuke Harada got on the microphone and said, "Yokohama is a month away. I will win as I want the Noah Jnr to be on a bigger stage", he then raised the GHC Junior over the GHC Heavyweight indicating that he would raise the Junior belt above the GHC Heavyweight, and then pointing to the heavyweight belt (being hugged by Kaito Kiyomiya who was putting an icepack on his arm), and said "that is my final goal".
Naomichi Marufuji later posted a picture of himself shoving Kaito Kiyomiya into the ring post with a string of words that appeared to be about a laundry list of clothes, Kiyomiya, however was a little more coherent in his post and said that he was going to find a way to discover "the weakness of "The Genius" before "my body breaks down".
WINNER: Daisuke Harada with the Katayama German Suplex Hold on Minoru Tanaka (22 minutes and 31 seconds)
