WWE NXT Written Results (Dec. 26, 2018): The Undisputed ERA vs. Heavy Machinery... Published Dec 27, 2018 By Andre Corbeil.
WWE NXT aired on Wednesday, December 26 2018 - Here’s a recap of what happened...
Match 1: Io Shirai vs. Lacey Evans vs. Mia Yim vs. Bianca Belair Summary: Mia Yim and Io Shirai got off to flying starts (literally) by diving through the ropes to take out Bianca Belair at ringside. Lacey Evans began to control the match after Yim inadvertently kicked Shirai in the head, ending their temporary alliance. It was every woman for herself from then on, with Shirai looking set to get the victory at one stage after a moonsault on Evans. However, Belair broke up the pinfall by whipping Shirai with her hair. “The EST of NXT” then hit Evans with a torture rack/facebuster to pick up the win, meaning she will face Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women’s Championship at TakeOver: Phoenix.
Grade: B+
Match 2: Mitch Taverna vs. Jaxson Ryker (w/Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake) Summary: The Forgotten Sons’ Jaxson Ryker made light work of Mitch Taverna, picking up the victory in quick fashion after powerbombing his opponent against the ropes and onto the mat. Strangely, there was no commentary for the match.
Grade: B-
Match 3: Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly vs. Heavy Machinery (NXT Tag Team titles) Summary: Heavy Machinery’s dominant start to the match led to Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly trying to scurry away at ringside after being hit with synchronised suplexes. The tag champs finally turned things around when Strong suplexed Tucker Knight onto the outside from the ring apron. Heavy Machinery gained momentum again when Otis Dozovic re-entered the match and busted out the worm, followed by an elbow drop, on Strong. The Undisputed ERA then took out Knight and isolated Dozovic with a series of kicks and strikes. The finish came when Strong landed one final kick to the face of Dozovic to pick up the 1-2-3
