My Thoughts On Shayna Baszler

This is the article where I pull no punches on my feelings regarding a particular subject. Some might like what I say, and some might not.

My feelings are related to Shayna Baszler and this NXT title win that so many professional "Podcaster/Youtubers" seem to think will be a great title win for her.
So because she portrays a heel well. Should that entitle her to a Championship, while being in the company for only a short time? I seriously don't think so.  This match at Takeover New Orleans will be this woman's 3rd strait title match.  Why she was even given a second opportunity after her defeat at last Takeover is beyond me.  It is shocking to me that the loser of the Inaugural Mae Young Classic, has received more title opportunity's than the actual winner of that tournament has. Could it be because Shayna has certain friends? In the end, so much politics are involved  in wrestling that it would not surprise me.  Would Shayna Baszler be considered for a WWE contract, at 37 years old, and pretty much just starting out in the business, if she in fact did not have a friend in Ronda Rousey? We'll never know that answer, but I certainly have my suspicions.

I don't know what the end game here is if in fact Shayna does win the NXT title. Do they turn her into some Brock Lesner clone. Destroying everybody while at the same time, having matches after matches that are pretty lackluster. (I have yet to give a Shayna Baszler match even 3 stars) Will fans have to sit through the same match over and over and over? Because from what I see, Shayna knows how to do only a few things inside that ring. And we've all seen them to the point of Ad nauseam.

The only realistic way I could except Shayna Baszler as NXT women's champion is in a transitional capacity. For NXT to continue to build her into this terrible bully of a person. But to do that for the sole purpose of having an underdog come along and beat her. Sort of like WWE did with Daniel Bryan when he went up against Triple H.  All the odds where against him. Yet he found a way to keep fighting and eventually he took down one of the biggest stars in WWE history. In my eyes, there is only one woman in NXT that fits that Daniel Bryan mold perfectly, and that's Kairi Sane. Like Bryan, Sane has the likeability that's almost impossible not to cheer for.  Just as she overcame all the odds to win The Mae Young Classic. I believe she is the perfect wrestler to dethrone and take down the bully Shayna. Not only is Kairi more deserving to be champion. But this also allows WWE to show young boys and girls one very important thing. Don't let bullies stop you from being strong and standing up for what's right.
There is such a positive message that can come from a Shayna vs Kairi feud for the title.  With so many young boys and girls watching this product. Many who I'm certain get bullied on a regular basis.  It would be a disservice to them to not use this opportunity to show them that in the end, bullies NEVER win.  That in the end, bullies CAN be beaten. That even though you may be an underdog,  NEVER let fear stop you from reaching your dreams.

If WWE does not go that route, than what does that say to kids? That being a bully is ok? If you're a bully you'll get everything you want? Yes wrestling is fake and we all know that. But that doesn't mean that this company shouldn't intertwine real life issues on occasion. Hell they are doing that with Nia and Alexa right now. Body shaming is very real in today's society.  And though right now Alexa seems to be shown as the rotten person. In the end, we all know that Nia will have the last laugh. The same can be done with Shayna Baszler and Kairi Sane.
