Karen has always been passionate about studying the anatomy and physiology of the human body. It was this interest that drove her to pursue her education at the University of British Columbia Okanagan, where she completed her Bachelor of Human Kinetics,
Majoring in Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2016. During Karen’s undergrad, she worked with high level varsity athletes as a student Athletic Therapist. This sparked her interest to pursue her certification in Athletic Therapy.
She returned to Calgary to continue her education at Mount Royal University where she graduated with an Advanced Certificate in Athletic Therapy in 2018 and became certified that summer. It was during this time,
Karen worked with a wide demographic ranging from professional athletes to seniors recovering from knee replacements. Regardless of the patient’s background,
Karen’s approach to treatment focuses on the body as a whole to not only treat the symptom but to find out the cause. She takes immense pride and joy in helping her patient’s return to their daily activities pain free.
Karen’s past experience involves working with football teams including the Okanagan Sun, University of Calgary, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Along with football, Karen has worked with hockey, rugby, wrestling, and basketball teams of various ages.
Through her experiences working in the field and clinical setting, she has been able to hone her understanding of how to treat a wide variety of acute and chronic injuries.
Karen’s goal with therapy is to bring about meaningful change that will be sustainable through manual therapies, exercise rehabilitation, and patient education. Karen is excited to be at MOST and is eager to learn and grow her practice.
She plans to further her learning through continuing education courses...
