– RJ City cuts a promo, heeling it up and complaining about his lack of reaction and that there was no standing ovation.
RJ City & Jake Something vs. Halal Beefcake (Idris Abraham & Joe Coleman): Jake and Abraham start us off. Jake overpowers Abraham to begin, but Abraham hits a jawbreaker and tags in Coleman and he hits a clothesline and dropkick. City crotches him on the post to cut him off and then tags himself in. He grounds the action; the heels work quick tags and isolate Coleman. City hits a flatliner and poses. Coleman cuts him off with a spear, and tags in Abraham. Jake in as well, Abraham trips him up and then City. Coleman does pushups, it breaks down and Abraham hits an air raid crash. City takes out Coleman, and Jake hits the black hole slam on Abraham. City tags in, argues with Jake, and Jake turns on him and lays him out. He bails allowing Abraham to hit a splash for the win. Hala Beefcake defeated RJ City & Jake Something @ 6:22 via pin [**] This was an ok, but very disjointed opener.
Mad Man Fulton vs. Mavado: Fulton is the former Sawyer Fulton from Sanity. They lock up and Fulton overpowers him to begin. Mavado tries to run, but Fulton cuts him off and then misses a charge. Mavado does the worm, and runs into a big boot. Fulton follows with strikes, and then a clothesline for 2. Fulton then hits a face buster and a rolling senton for 2. Fulton to the ropes and flies off into the knees of Mavado. He follows with something resembling strikes and a knee strike. He does the worm again, hits a corner dropkick and senton for 2. Fulton cuts him off with a TKO, and the flatliner follows for the win. Mad Man Fulton defeated Mavado @ 4:25 via pin [*] This was bad, Fulton looked ok, but Mavado is a horrifically bad professional wrestler.
Gisele Shaw vs. Scarlett Bordeux: Shaw has appeared on One Night Only events in the past. This was originally set as a triple threat with Kiera Hogan, but was apparently changed. They stall and play to the crowd to begin. Bordeux lays in rights hits a Thesz press and rights. She dumps Shaw, and heads up top, and hits a high cross to the floor. Back in and Bordeux covers for 2. Bordeux lays in kicks, Shaw fires back, and lays in chops. Bordeux fights back and hits a head scissors, the slam and elbow drop gets 2. Bordeux now misses an ass attack and Shaw bails. Shaw cuts off a suicide dive, and follows with a suplex on the floor. Back in and Shaw covers for 2. Shaw lays the boots to her, and follows with a gut buster for 2. Shaw follows with rolling suplexes, and then a draping neck breaker gets 2. Shaw then lands on her head on a springboard moonsault, allowing Bordeux to hit clotheslines. Bordeux uses her ass to attack and covers for 2. Shaw gets a sunset flip, and then rolls into a kick and covers for 2. They trade slaps, and Bordeux cuts her off with a standing senton. The cradled DDT by Bordeux gets 2. Should have went home there. Shaw fires back, hits a back breaker, and then a spear for 2. Bordeux now hits jig’n tonic and that’s that. Scarlett Bordeux defeated Gisele Shaw @ 9:05 via pin [**]This was an ok match, but was really slow, and had no aggression or sense of urgency.
– Drake cuts a promo and then runs down the fans and dummies that mock him that have no athletic skill. He then mocks Gowen for missing a leg and not belonging on the ring with him. Gowen refuses to leave and says a one legged man will win this ass kicking contest.
Eli Drake vs. Zach Gowen: Gowen plays stay away, frustrating Drake. Drake talks shit and shoves him down. Gowen then grounds things and cradles him for 2. Drake cuts him off, but allows Gowen to get back up. Drake then pummels him with strikes, and grounds the action. Gowen hits a jawbreaker, and then covers for 2. Drake cuts him off with a powerslam, and lays the boots to him. Gowen fights back and hits a missile dropkick. Drake misses a charge and gets dumped to the floor. Back in and he misses another charge but then cuts off Gowen with strikes, the gravy train is countered into a cradle for 2. Gowen up top and the moonsault misses. Drake attacks the leg, gravy train, finish. Eli Drake defeated Zach Gowen @ 5:15 via pin [**] This was ok, with Drake playing overconfident heel, allowing Gowen some run until Drake finally put him away.
Petey Williams vs. Matt Sydal vs. Ace Austin vs. N8 Mattson: Sydal talks his third eye bullshit to everyone, and then powders. He pulls Petey to the floor and they brawl. Mattson and Austin work into some back and forth, and Austin grounds things and covers for 2. They work into a double down, Mattson than hits a flapjack and Petey is back to cut him off and takes control. Petey takes him up top, Sydal is back and cuts that off but Petey fights back and keeps control. Sydal cuts that off, Austin back in and Sydal dumps him. Back in and Austin takes him down, hits a basement dropkick and follows with a Fosbury flop onto the pile. Back in and Austin takes control, working over Mattson. Petey in and gets the sharpshooter. Sydal back in and we work into a four-way submission spot. Petey breaks and Sydal powders. Mattson fights back, trades strikes with Petey until Austin flies in with a missile dropkick to both. Austin follow with a knee strike on Sydal on the floor, but Sydal hides under the ring and then attacks. Back in and Mattson covers Austin for 2. Mattson and Sydal then attack Austin, laying in chops and kicks. Sydal then works the leg, but Austin makes the ropes. Austin fights back, but Sydal cuts him off but Austin tries to fight them both off. Austin runs wild for a bit, hits a disaster kick, and covers Mattson for 2. Austin heads up top, Sydal cuts him off and knocks him to the floor. Petey returns with a code breaker and flatliner. He teases the destroyer, but Mattson stops that with an STO. Mattson up top and hits the leg drop for 2. Austin is back, superkick on Mattson and that gets 2. Petey cuts off Mattson, but Sydal cuts of the destroyer. Chemical imbalance by Sydal follows, but Mattson cuts him off until Petey makes the save. Petey hits the destroyer on Austin and that’s that. Petey Williams defeated Matt Sydal, Ace Austin, & N8 Mattson @ 12:50 via pin [***¼ ] While not a wide open X-division style match, this was a good and smartly worked professional wrestling match with three veterans and an energetic youngster delivering a fun outing. I really like Austin, and think he has a lot of potential.
Sami Callihan vs. Ace Romero: Sami attacks, but runs into a dropkick and powders. They brawl to the floor, Sami lays in kicks, but Romero cuts him off and works him over on the apron. Romero climbs the ropes, and misses a leg drop to the apron. Sami fires up and lays in chops. Sami now misses a chop and hits the post, and Romero then does the same. They trade strikes as they continue to brawl on the floor. Sami rakes the eyes, follows with rights and sits Romero in a chair and then follows with running chops. Sami sits him in another chair, and follows with a running kick. Sami takes a lap, charges, and Romero cuts him off with a big boot. Romero follows with a bog boy senton on the floor. Back in and Sami lays in chops and kicks, Romero cuts off the slam, but Sami hits a kick and Romero slams him and hits another senton for 2. Sami shoots Romero the middle finger so Romero hits another senton for 2 again. Sami counters the slam, rakes the eyes but Romero counters the sunset flip but misses the sit-down splash. Sami follows with a flurry of strikes, and grounds Romero. Romero gets to his feet, escapes, but misses a charge and Sami hits a rough looking slam. He follows with clotheslines, but Romero fires back with strikes, boot by Sami, and a vicious lariat by Romero. The sitout powerbomb gets 2. Romero now lays in forearm strikes, takes Sami up top, and follows. Sami slips out, superkicks the knees and now follows with a DVD for 1. Romero is fired up locks on a choke, but Sami pulls a Bret Hart counter and pins Romero. Sami Callihan defeated Ace Romero @ 13:12 via pin [**½] This was a solid walk and brawl style match, a bit slow, but nothing bad.
Tommy Dreamer & Eddie Edwards vs. Johnny Swinger & Jon Bolen: Bolen and Edwards to begin. They lock up and Bolen hits a shoulder tackle. Bolen follows with strikes, and another shoulder tackle. Edwards finally cuts him off and tags in Dreamer as Swinger tags in. Swinger attacks and takes Dreamer down. Dreamer fights back, and lays in jabs and an elbow. Dreamer attacks the arm, Bolen in and Edwards tags in and they work quick tags, double teams, and Edwards covers for 2. Edwards back in and he low bridges Bolen and follows with a plancha. Dreamer teases a dive, but just rolls to the floor and lays in rights. They all brawl on the floor, Dreamer and Swinger battle into the crowd Swinger dumps Dreamer over the raining and onto the floor. Back to the ring and Swinger lays in elbow drops and chokes out Dreamer. Bolen tags in and maintains control. He grounds the action, and covers for 2. Bolen shoots Dreamer to the corner, Swinger tags in and follows with elbows and covers for 1. Dreamer fights back and hits a running cross body. Tag to Edwards and he picks up the pace, and runs wild on Bolen. The suplex and chops follow and it breaks down. Dreamer and Edwards take control, hitting clotheslines. Swinger gets Kenny the kendo stick, but Dreamer cuts him off with a cutter. Edwards hits future shock and pins Bolen. Tommy Dreamer & Eddie Edwards defeated Johnny Swinger & Jon Bolen @ 9:45 via pin [**]This was a very basic and lethargic tag, with little in terms of crowd investment. It was ok.
Kongo Kong vs. D-Lo Brown: Brown attack with strikes, but Kong shakes him off and Brown tries a slam and fails. Brown looks for a test of strength, ends up dancing and again fails to slam Kong. Kong follows with a big backdrop, and lays the boots to Brown. He follows with strikes; Brown fires back but again fails to slam Kong. Kong follows with a belly to belly for 2. Kong follows with head butts, but misses the corner splash. Brown tries to slam Kong but Kong falls on him and covers for 2. Kong follows with a rolling senton and splash, and then grounds things. Brown to the floor, Kong follows and Brown lays in strikes and charges, but runs into a post. Kong splashes him against the post, and then rolls him back in. Brown fires back, looks for sky high and fails. Kong chokes him out, hits a corner splash and cannonball. Kong charges and misses, Brown fires back with clotheslines, and finally slams Kong for the first real fan reaction of the match. Kong sidesteps Brown, Brown posts himself and Kong hits the chokeslam and that’s that. Kongo Kong defeated D-Lo Brown @ 9:22 via pin [**] Like most of this card, it was ok, but just sort of existed.
Johnny Impact vs. Moose: They lock up, Moose hits a shoulder tackle, misses a senton, and Impact hits a rough looking RANA. They trade strikes, Impact follows with arm drags and a dropkick and Moose powders. Impact follows and his the plancha. Moose rakes the eyes, gets a chair, and the ref takes it away, allowing Impact to attack. They brawl into the crowd, and they don’t have a camera up there so we really can’t see anything. Impact backdrops Moose through a table, and they work back to ringside. Impact drinks a fan’s beer, but as he comes back in the ring, Moose low blows him. Moose follows with strikes, and then lays in chops. Impact starts to fire back with strikes, follows with a knee strike but Moose counters the second and cradles him into a sitout powerbomb for 2. Moose lays in more chops, taking Impact down and then misses a second rope moonsault. Impact now lays in rights, a superman punch and then a leg lariat. The running knee strike and standing shooting star press gets 2. Impact heads up top and rolls through on the launch to Impact, and Moose hits the spear for 2. they trade strikes and chops, but Impact hits a superkick and enziguri but Moose hits a head butt, Impact hits the disaster kick, and both men are down. Moose now hits go to hell and that gets 2. Moose heads up top, Impact cuts him off and follows him up. Moose fights, bites Impact and then Impact pops back up and hits a Spanish fly for 2. Impact now looks for starship pain. Moose avoids and hits a pop up powerbomb. Moose gets a chair, the ref takes it and Moose gets another and hits Impact with it, covering for 2. We get a ref bump; Impact cradles Moose, but no ref. Moose low blows Impact, celebrates, and gets the chair and pulls the old Eddie Guerrero, but Impact then wraps the chair around his head and does the same. The ref is completely confused. Moose begs off of the DQ, and Impact superkicks him and hits starship pain and picks up the win.Johnny Impact defeated Moose @ 20:20 via pin [***½] While it may have gone a bit long and the ending was overbooked, this was an overall very good main event. They did a good job of playing the story that Moose was trying to injure Impact ahead of his BFG match with Aries, and they worked well together.
– Post match, Impact says Moose brought the fight, but he took him to Slamtown. On Sunday at BFG, the talking and tweeting will be done as Impact will take the title from him.
